St Michael’s Mount (bottom left in the image) is a castle built on a rock. It’s as simple as that and depending on the tide it is either accessible or not. I went to photograph star trails over the mount that night and wasn’t really interested in trying to get the Milky Way on that occasion. Still, being the (sometimes) archetypal “just one more shot” person, I changed glass and tried to get a good shot of the night sky and the Milky Way. Usually, I like to try to do “nigh-to-day” style images but with this I quite liked the contrast between the exceptionally dark sky and the incredibly bright star field. I hope you do too.
